    Reinhold W. LangReinhold W. Lang

    Professor Lang graduated from the University of Leoben (A) in 1978 in Polymer Engineering and Science. In 1984 he was rewarded a Ph.D. degree in this field at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, USA). From 1984 to 1991 he joined BASF AG in Ludwigshafen (D), first holding a research position in the Polymer Research Laboratory, then as a Group Leader in the Business Unit for Structural Materials. Subsequently he became Program Manager in the Marketing and Sales Department of the same Business Unit.

    In 1991 Prof. Lang became Full Professor at the University of Leoben and Head of the Institute of Materials Science and Testing of Plastics. Since 2002 he is also Scientific Director of the Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PCCL). His research focus is in the field of fracture and fatigue of plastics and composites. Over the past decade he has been also strongly involved in research related to polymers in solar energy applications.
